Nishitama University welcomes a new group of German exchange students.

Between lectures, excursions, and everyday life on an unfamiliar campus, adjusting to their new surroundings proves to be a challenge.

Thanks to a partnership between the two universities’ departments of regional history, the students soon come across old accounts, local legends, and stories that have long surrounded the city and its surrounding area. What at first appears to be harmless folklore seems, in strange ways, connected to a series of unusual events.

Among abandoned buildings, mysterious encounters at night, and the hidden secrets of the region, the students follow a trail that leads them ever deeper into the shadows of Nishitama.

But some secrets have remained buried for generations for a reason.
